MAC Cosmetics has permanently dropped its makeup pricingMAC Cosmetics lipsticksThe beauty brand just announced price cuts across its range of lipsticks, single eyeshadows and mascaras, so it's time to get shopping!
Listen up, beauty lovers, because we are the bearers of some seriously great news. Cult-favourite makeup label MAC Cosmetics has just dropped a bombshell in the form of permanently reduced prices across a range of your favourite beauty buys.
As of today (Monday 14 October), the brand is giving the pricing on its range of lipsticks, single eyeshadows and single wand mascaras a serious makeover. That means that instead of forking out $36 for your favourite lippies, you'll now pay just $30. Meanwhile, single eyeshadows will be reduced to $29 (previously $33) and single wand mascaras like the Extended Play Lash will now retail for $39 (previously $42).
The new prices are already up on both the MAC Cosmetics site and on the sites of usual MAC stockists such as Myer, Adore Beauty and David Jones, so you might want to start adding your favourite items to your cart now.
The changes come after the brand's makeup prices have fluctuated over the years, leaving customers feeling frustrated. Foreign exchange rates, costs of manufacturing, shipping, handling and local GST costs have all contributed to previous changes in pricing, but now the brand is determined to offer customers its most competitive rates.
MAC Cosmetics Director of Make-up Artistry, Nicole Thompson, said in a release, "You asked and we listened! Gone are the days of listing up your besties when they head overseas with all your make-up must-haves. Now you can shop MAC at competitive prices locally and still have change to spare for a cocktail or two!"
If, like us, you're already preparing to shop up a storm, you might also like to know that Ruby Woo has just been voted Australia's #1 red lipstick for this financial year, while Velvet Teddy took out the spot for Australia's #1 nude lipstick, so you might want to think about adding them to your haul. Happy shopping!
Here's Every Single Item in MAC's Holiday Collection
|MAC Holiday Collection|
Named Starring You, MAC's holiday collection contains face, eye, and lip products all designed to turn you into an IRL version of the star on top of a Christmas tree. A legendary lineup for eyes, lips and face encourages everyone to create, make a name for themselves and claim centre stage." During the time of year when many people deal with family obligations, awkward work parties, and the stress of present-buying, we are deeply here for a celebration of the self — especially if it involves shimmering eye makeup.
"The finishes are reflective and varying. The color palette is sophisticated and urbane. After the predominantly fiery coppers and rusts of SS19, it’s refreshing to create looks with rich plums, pinots, irons and garnets laced with sparkle."
The range contains four eye shimmering shadow singles in Stars Align (silver with purple pearlescent shine), Stairs to the Stars (burgundy with purple), Swing on a Star (blue purple with blue-green), and Wishful Thinking (purple on purple). Best of all, the packaging looks like a glitzed-up Christmas cookie. Each pot is sold separately for $25. For the full "all eyes on me" effect, there's also a $19 black eye pencil and a gorgeous set of $17 lashes.
Next, stock up is for mistletoe season with six new glitter lipsticks ($20 each) and five metallic and pearlescent lip glosses ($18.50 each). Named Kiss of Stars, the lipsticks are embossed with a star pattern, formulated with shimmery goodness, and topped off with a glitter cap. Shades run the gamut of moods you're bound to experience this holiday season, like Asterisk (deep blue), Starstruck (bright pink), and Walk of Flame (berry red). Then there's lip gloss in high-shine shades like Couting Stars (lilac), Starring You (pink), and Star Memoir (metallic ruby). Choose your favorite, then top the whole look off with a studded lip adornment ($10) perfect to shock the whole family at holiday dinner. Finally, we've got two opalescent face powders ($36) in pink shimmer and warm gold.
MAC is the best beauty brand. I tried MAC products and they're awesome.
