Depression is a state of mood which contains feelings and a sense of well being. It may lead to mood disorders and major depressive disorder/dysthymia.This happens due to the major side effects of drugs and treatment.Depression occurs due to mental,physical as well as social health. Depression must be cured on the proper time to avoid thinkings such as suicidal attempts. Depression are of many types such as mild, major, chronic, manic and many more.It happens due to the loss of loved ones in teenage. In adult age this can happen due to work stress, friends and family relationship,money problems,other family issues.Depression has many negative impacts on your brain and body which may lead to severe problems in the present as well as future life. Depression is be caused by multiple reasons which is hardly known by anyone except Doctors.Depression lead to sadness, sorrowness and quality time loss.

More than 300 million people suffer from depressive state of mind worldwide.Depressive mood can harm one's social, work, physical and mental health. Depression can be caused by many factors such as genetics, biological changes in neurotransmitters, environment,psychological and social problems, medications, anxiety, feeling of lonliness and post-traumatic disorder.
Higher risk of depression includes
  1. Life events:Life events contains work issue, family and friends relation, sudden and unexpected breakup and acute stress. 
  2. Genetic factors:Depression can be caused by transferring of genes which was a depression disorder gene.This gene passes on to the next generation continuously and makes the problem severe. 
  3. Childhood trauma/disorder
  4. Some drugs:Regular drugs are not good for you as it affects our mental health.A drug "Beta-blockers" can be very harmful for you.
  5. Past head injury 
  6. Chronic pain syndromes: diabetes,pulmonary disease and heart disease.


Several factors lead to mild depression. The factors are berearement, neglection, mental abuse, physical and sexual abuse.In females menopause leads to depression and anxiety.Generally,in males the depression causing factor is high stress. In teenager, it is bullying and loss of loved one.Moreover,natural disaster can cause depression by social isolation of the loved relations. The catastrophic injury can lead to this severe mentally abuse problem.Adolescents experience depression mood by social rejection and exam pressure.

  • Alcoholism:When you get depressed and start feeling alone you think of starting alcohols like beer, shampein, kingfisher and many dangerous alcohol types. But you must know how these alcohols affect your brain, liver and other body parts. Drinking alcohol is 100% depressant for all age person.Alcohol drinking causes your brain to loose the ability of sense. 
  • Bullying:Generally,bullying means relation damage and loss of loved one.This leads to the negative behaviour and angryness to other people.The victim suffers from mental health problems and depressive mode. 
  • Creative thinking:Depression is also connected with thinking as it's connected to the brain. Creative thinking reduces as the mode of depression increases.Depression reduces hard work, grasping ability and fluency.

Depression can also be caused due to the infectious diseases such as nutrition deficiency,hypoandrogenism(in males), Addison's disease, Cushing's syndrome, Lyme disease,Chronic and acute pain, Stroke, Diabetes and Cancer. 

Medical treatment 

Therapies like intererofon therapy, beta-blockers, isotretinoin, contraceptives, anticonvulsants, antimigraine drugs, antipsychotics, hormonal agents like gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist can make you get away from this mental depressive state. 
The medical treatment's first step includes support.
Psychotherapy-like cognitive behaviourial therapy(CBT) can be done to cure depression. Some Drug treatment,especially antidepressants are given to cure depression but, a warning from Food and Drug Administration(FDA) says that "antidepressant may increase suicidal attempts."
  • Exercise therapy:Aerobic exercise help against mild depression as it raises endorphin level in our body and changes your depressed mood.


To stop depression you dont require professional treatment as it is normal and happens to all. The side effects of drugs lead to severe depression as we already discussed..
The UK National Institute of Health and Care Excellence(NICE) 2009 indicates that antipressidant should not be regularly used for mild depression treatment.

While it can be hard to improve your diet while you are in a depressive state, science shows that healthier foods can improve your mood.Focus on eating a rainbow of fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, and plenty of lean protein.On the other hand, avoid eating too many fried foods, limit your sugar intake, and give alcohol a miss.
Studies have shown that social support can make a big difference when it comes to improving mental health.
Associate Professor Mercedes Bern-Klug at the University of Iowa states, “formerly depressed adults who had emotionally supportive and close relationships were four times more likely to report complete mental health.The last thing you want to do when you are experiencing depression is get active and engage in physical activity.That said, physical exercise is proven to improve your mood and give you a much-needed boost of endorphins.
Start small – even just a short walk will really help.
While you’re in the midst of a depressive episode you can start to neglect your mind and body.Don’t underestimate the importance of meditation, relaxation, and physical comfort when you are trying to recover from poor mental health and low mood.
Book a soothing and relaxing massage at a local spa, take a long bath, and treat yourself to a few body care cosmetics.While a depressive episode can feel like it’s the end of the world and everything is hopeless, you can make a full recovery and lead a happy and healthy life.
